Rita Ora x Rimmel 2014

I’m currently VERY excited about Rita Ora’s collection for Rimmel launching early 2014, the perfect New Year Beauty Treat! Miss Ora is my #1 inspiration when it comes to both beauty and fashion, and I simply can’t wait to get my hands on her range of lip and nail shades for the iconic British cosmetics brand.

Speaking on her collaboration with Rimmel, Rita explains how excited she is to be following in the footsteps of such previous famous Rimmel faces as Georgia May Jagger and Kate Moss:

“I am absolutely obsessed with make-up and being adventurous with colours, so when I was given the chance to make my own collection with Rimmel it was like a dream come true!”

Equally known for her bold and fearless make-up looks as her classic smokey eyes and red pout, Rita’s range for Rimmel is sure to be as stand-out as the singer’s own signature style. I certainly can’t wait to inject some Rita-esque glam into my make-up bag and Get The London Look with a strictly Ora-inspired twist!

Beauty Queen: Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani is an idol for me when it comes to both beauty and fashion. When you think of Gwen you think of her timeless approach to beauty, with her signature red lip, perfected brows, and peroxide blonde hair. Her look spans decades as she always finds a way to make it work alongside current trends.

Now she’s a mother, wife, successful business woman, as well as a singer, and she still maintains her timeless make-up look from her early No Doubt days. It’s hard to believe this Beauty Queen is 42, further proof she’s got one of the best beauty looks out there.

Speaking in a recent interview, Gwen spoke on her bold beauty look: It was like I’d unlocked the key. I remember feeling like, ‘I have arrived. This is me. Finally.” (source)

What is it about her look that’s so powerful? Firstly, a red lip not only looks slick but keeps teeth looking white. Her platinum blonde hair is striking, youthful, and vibrant, and finally, her bold, face framing brows further contribute to her youthful appearance.

“I love a strong lip. I would see women like Marilyn Monroe and Gwen Stefani with red lips, they had such confidence. They were just hot and sexy and not afraid to be different. When I put red lipstick on, I want to be like them” – Rita Ora (source)

With my favourite fashionista Rita Ora admitting Gwen Steafani was a key inspiration behind her beauty look, it’s evident that Gwen’s reign as Beauty Queen is still going strong!

Fashion Inspirations & Idols

If I could steal one person’s wardrobe, it would be Rita Ora’s. Her love of bold, bright outfits crossing the lines of street wear and sport luxe is what I love about her look. In addition to the image above, below are 2 more examples of why I love her style…

When I think of styles I like I think of the following words : fun, bright, bold, pattern, print, sport, urban, 90s era, culture, aztec, tomboy, street style, hip-hop, tribal, feminine, clash, tough, multi colour, diversity.

Rita Ora aside, the Fresh Prince is a big style icon of mine. As a massive 90s hip-hop fan, the style of this era is a big influence on the clothes I like. For me, Will Smith in the Fresh Prince is the ultimate style icon and inspiration, embracing everything I love about fashion.

I recently discovered a brand called Educate & Elevate selling retro inspired 90s street wear. I’m grateful I came across it as I love everything about this brand. If you share a similar style you should definitely check them out at www.educateelevate.com

Finally, what I like most about fashion is that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to style. Disagreeing on what clothes and looks you like is a positive thing. It’s the diversity fashion offers to each individual that is creative and fun to explore!
